Banana and Oat Pancake: Protein-Rich and Practical Breakfast

Banana and Oat Pancake: Protein-Rich Breakfast

By Vanessa Manfredini | Biomedical Scientist and Future Nutritionist

Tired of having breakfast and feeling hungry an hour later?  The secret might be protein! This banana and oat pancake includes an egg, is quick, delicious, and keeps you full all morning. Come understand why and get the recipe! 🌿

"A protein-rich breakfast changes your entire morning."

Why Protein for Breakfast? 🥩

Starting the day with only carbohydrates (white bread, cake, cookies) often leads to quick hunger afterward. Protein, on the other hand, brings more satiety and helps preserve muscle, which is the engine of metabolism. Therefore, including a protein source at breakfast helps you get through the morning with more energy and less desire to snack.

🥞 Recipe: Banana and Oat Pancake
Ingredients (1 serving)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • A drizzle of olive oil or coconut oil for greasing
Instructions
  1. Mash the banana well with a fork.
  2. Mix the egg and oats until a homogeneous batter forms. Add the cinnamon.
  3. Heat a greased non-stick pan over low heat.
  4. Pour small portions of the batter and brown on both sides.
💡 Vanessa's Tip: serve with fruit on top and, if desired, a drizzle of peanut butter. The egg is what provides the protein and satiety!
